Summer Institute for High School Writers

The Institute did wonders for my brain because I know now how to apply these techniques I learned at the Institute to my writing.

I enjoyed coming to school every day. I learned a lot and it was a great experience that will help me be more successful in high school.

The Institute helped me build my confidence. It made me listen to others' writing style and helped me to think differently. It showed me different ways to write and ways to improve my own writing.

The Institute worked for me because I hated writing. Now my parents are happy that I'm writing so much.

I thought that one of the greatest things about the program was the small groups where you could be yourself and not be afraid to write and share your writing.

Now I believe that anyone can become a better writer no matter what age you are. I feel more confident with writing. Before, I was not good at English, especially speaking and writing, but I think now I'm much better.

I really enjoyed the program and learned a lot of different techniques and types of writing. I loved how teachers participated in everything with the students. I loved the diversity.

I had a good time, gained a new experience, got into my writing more, and learned to share my writing as well as writing it.

I learned to be more creative, more expressive, and more outgoing in my writing and speaking.

I really felt welcomed and supported. I really enjoyed my time here. The atmosphere was loving and encouraging.

I learned that everyone, myself included, has talents and abilities and with effort, time, and determination, you can become a better writer.

I saw my writing improve greatly over only 3 weeks. I love the program. The teachers were outstanding.
